Kodiak

Purpose

KODIAK is the stimulating leadership experience for youth aged 15-18. It is a 6-day activity, based on nature, held in the outdoors, normally on a high adventure trek. KODIAK prepares youth to be servant leaders by their participating in 5 leadership skills through hands-on exercises and continuing reinforcement experiences. The skills are taught by two-person instructor teams--either adult or youth.

It is conducted by a crew, district or church group led by an adult course director certified by the council (after completion of the course director conference). Council authorization is required to conduct a KODIAK.

There is only one council-conducted KODIAK--at Encompass (Family Camp).
